“The anxiety of our era has to do fundamentally with space"
– Michel Foucault
inspired by the theory of heterotopias, we explore space as a tangible and intangible phenomenon. alternative spaces that interrogate received notions of chronology reconstitute reality by reflecting it. as spatiotemporal frames within society, heterotopias juxtapose in a single real place different spaces and locations which are incompatible with each other.
the event showcases experimentations across mediums that explore ideas surrounding the forms and properties of space, our relationships to it and within it. spoken word performance by Elpida Fragkeskidou, visual art by Irini Khenkin, collaborative mixed media work by Alexandros Xenophontos, Doris Mari Demetriadou and Nicola Joseph. music for this event was curated by Mary Stephanis and nyx kollektiv.
